Instead of Trent. Real Madrid eyeing Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot

Real Madrid continues its search for a right-back to strengthen the squad next summer. After being turned down by Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, they have identified a new candidate from another English club – Diogo Dalot of Manchester United.
Details: Currently, Real Madrid's right flank is occupied by Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez, but both are nearing the twilight of their careers, and the club does not want to be left without a reliable player in that position.
Los Blancos had previously considered several options, with Trent being the latest. However, it was recently revealed that Alexander-Arnold decided to decline the offer from the Santiago Bernabéu, opting to remain at Liverpool instead.
According to GiveMeSport, Real Madrid’s search has now led them to Dalot. The club has been monitoring him for a while and is keen on signing him if a deal with Trent proves impossible.
However, a potential issue may arise, as Manchester United has no intention of parting with their right-back, especially since his contract runs until 2028. The player’s market value, according to Transfermarkt, is estimated at €35 million, but the Red Devils will likely demand a significantly higher fee for their defender.
Reminder: The contracts of Carvajal and Vázquez expire at the end of the current season. Earlier reports indicated that the club is close to renewing Carvajal's contract, while Lucas' future with the team remains uncertain.
