This winter, Premier League clubs splashed out massive sums.
Details: Yesterday marked the official closure of the winter transfer window in Europe’s top leagues, so it's time to take stock and compare which league broke the bank the most this winter.

The full ranking of winter transfer window spending is as follows:
- Premier League — £397 million.
- Serie A — £205 million.
- Ligue 1 — £88 million.
- Bundesliga — £84.3 million.
- La Liga — £50.3 million.
It’s also worth noting England’s second tier, the Championship, which spent £47.1 million—just £3.2 million less than La Liga.
Once again, this highlights the enormous financial gap between English football and the rest of Europe’s leagues, whose resources don’t even come close.
