Carlos Tevez is preparing a farewell worthy of one of the most memorable careers in modern football.

Details: According to TyC Sports, the 42-year-old Argentine is planning to stage his long-awaited farewell match at La Bombonera in December. Boca Juniors president Juan Román Riquelme has already agreed to make the legendary stadium available for the event. However, contrary to earlier reports, the exact date has not yet been confirmed: the weekends of December 12–13 and December 19–20 are currently being considered.

The event is expected to bring together around 60 football figures connected with Tevez throughout his career. The proposed format would see one team made up of his friends from football and his neighborhood, while the opposition would feature players who shared a team with the former striker during his playing days.

The biggest intrigue surrounds Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. TyC Sports reports that Messi is among the names expected to receive an invitation, while Ronaldo could also be invited after playing alongside Tevez at Manchester United. The final guest list and line-ups have not yet been officially confirmed, but the possibility of seeing the two icons on the same pitch again has already made the planned farewell even more spectacular.

It is worth noting that Tevez officially ended his playing career in June 2022. During his time with Boca Juniors, the Argentine scored 94 goals in 279 appearances and won 11 trophies with the club.

Reminder: Incredible! Argentina to honor Messi’s international farewell in a special way
