Inoue’s next fight: opponent and date revealed
The next fight for undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue has been confirmed, along with his expected opponent and fight date.
Details. According to Ring Magazine, Inoue will step into the ring against WBC Silver titleholder Alan David Picasso. The bout is tentatively scheduled for June 14 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, the source notes that the contract has not yet been finalized.
The 31-year-old Japanese star is planning a busy year. If everything goes smoothly against Picasso, "The Monster" is expected to return for a fight in September in Japan before closing out the year at the season-ending event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in December—potentially against WBA mandatory challenger Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
Reminder. In his last fight, Inoue defeated South Korean boxer Ye Joon Kim via fourth-round technical knockout.
