A fresh storm is brewing around Gianni Infantino as another explosive scandal unfolds.

Details: According to The Telegraph, current FIFA president Gianni Infantino is accused of having an extramarital affair with a junior colleague during his tenure as UEFA general secretary. Reports claim that during this alleged relationship, the woman secured a lucrative managerial position within the organization.

The article states that Infantino allegedly arranged for the employee’s salary to be boosted by around 30%, reaching approximately £147,000 per year. Her rapid rise through the ranks reportedly set off alarm bells among colleagues, who suspected the executive might be leveraging his position to advance her career.

After her departure, Infantino is said to have assisted her in landing another highly paid job, as well as facilitating a severance payment from UEFA funds—money that otherwise could have been allocated to grassroots football development.

Infantino himself vehemently denies the allegations, branding them as defamatory. UEFA, for its part, confirmed the payout to the employee upon her departure and noted that since 2016, the organization has tightened its internal regulations.
