INEOS want Inzaghi to replace ten Hag at Manchester United
After the 0-3 defeat to Tottenham, Erik ten Hag's situation at Manchester United has worsened significantly. Fewer and fewer people at the club believe the Dutch coach can turn the team's fortunes around. However, the club will not make a decision on his dismissal until they secure an agreement with a coach deemed a suitable replacement. And the new club owners from INEOS have already identified their ideal candidate.
Details: According to the Daily Star, Manchester United’s hierarchy is eyeing Inter Milan's head coach, Simone Inzaghi. They are highly impressed with his record since joining Inter in 2021, where he has won six trophies, and guided the Nerazzurri to the 2022/23 Champions League final, narrowly losing 0-1 to Manchester City.
At the same time, the club understands that negotiating with Inzaghi, who is under contract with Inter until the summer of 2027, will be extremely difficult. Nonetheless, they are prepared to make an attempt to lure the 48-year-old Italian if Ten Hag is ultimately dismissed.
Reminder: After the defeat to Tottenham, Manchester United has dropped to 12th place in the Premier League. In all of their home matches this season, the Red Devils have scored just one goal in the Premier League.
