India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The right-arm pacer sustained the injury during India's recent home ODI series against the West Indies. His inclusion in the squad for the New Zealand assignment was initially subject to fitness clearance.

Despite the setback, the bowler remains in contention for the Test series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that he is expected to join the India A squad for their third and final four-day match against New Zealand A, subject to passing his Return to Play (RTP) assessment.

In a statement, the BCCI explained that Krishna needs more time to build the workload required to compete at the highest level.

“The right-arm pacer, who is recovering from the hamstring injury, will need additional time to build up the workload required to be ready for matches,” the BCCI stated.
