Caragh Keane, daughter of Manchester United legend Roy Keane, has opened up about her battle with a serious illness and how she managed to overcome it, The Sun reports.

Four years ago, Caragh was diagnosed with lupus—a disease that also affects singer Selena Gomez, who had to undergo a kidney transplant due to the condition.

As her illness progressed, she suffered from joint pain, alopecia, and painful skin blisters. Doctors even considered chemotherapy as a possible treatment to alleviate her symptoms.

"I was essentially bed-bound for a month-and-a-half. I had been experiencing fatigue and memory loss for about six months. Since your immune system is essentially attacking itself, you feel like you only have yourself to blame," Caragh admitted.

Determined to find a way to heal, she began researching the connection between gut health and inflammation. After making significant dietary changes, she experienced a remarkable recovery, with her lupus symptoms disappearing completely.

Inspired by her journey, Caragh founded Superkeen, a company that sells organic food products aimed at helping people suffering from lupus, gut issues, and other autoimmune conditions.
