In the early hours of Sunday, June 2nd, Inter Miami played a regular-season MLS match against St. Louis City. In this game, forward Lionel Messi achieved a remarkable milestone.

The Argentine striker contributed both a goal and an assist, marking his 25th goal involvement in MLS. Messi accomplished this feat in just 12 matches, setting an absolute league record. The previous record was held by former Arsenal star Carlos Vela, who, in 2019 while playing for Los Angeles FC, achieved 25 goal involvements in 16 games.

The match against St. Louis City ended in a 3-3 draw. All four former Barcelona players—Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suárez, and Lionel Messi—started the game, played the full match, and three of them made significant contributions.

With this result, Inter Miami still leads the Eastern Conference of MLS with 35 points. However, Cincinnati could catch up if they win their remaining two games.
