Incredible comebacks by Galatasaray and PSV. Results of the Champions League
On Wednesday, November 29, the matches of the fifth round of the Champions League continued. Galatasaray hosted Manchester United on their home turf, while Sevilla faced PSV.
Galatasaray - Manchester United - 3:3 (Group A)
Manchester initiated this encounter impressively. Ten Hag's team found the net in the 11th and 18th minutes, with goals credited to Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes. Shortly thereafter, Galatasaray narrowed the deficit with a goal from Ziyech.
After the break, United reestablished a two-goal lead, as McTominay scored in the 55th minute. However, maintaining such a favorable lead proved elusive for the English side. In the 62nd minute, Ziyech secured a brace, and in the 71st, Akturkoglu leveled the score. Two goals came after clear errors by goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Manchester United once again faltered, settling for a 3-3 draw. They occupy the bottom spot in Group A with 4 points.
Sevilla - PSV - 2:3 (Group B)
Sergio Ramos opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the match. In the first half, the score could have been 2-0, but a goal was disallowed due to an attacking foul. However, early in the second half, Sevilla did manage to capitalize. En Nesyri doubled the Spaniards' advantage. Nevertheless, there were only bad tidings for them thereafter. Lucas Ocampos received two yellow cards in three minutes and left the field.
PSV capitalized on this gift and not only equalized but also snatched victory in the final minutes of the match. Saibari, an own goal by Gudelj, and the decisive goal by Ricardo Pepe marked the scoresheet.
PSV remains in second place in Group B with eight points. Sevilla, with just one point, languishes at the bottom of the group.
