Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante Withdraw from Black Stars Squad

Ghana has been dealt an injury setback ahead of their upcoming international friendlies, with Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante both ruled out.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that Williams picked up a knock after playing the full 90 minutes in Athletic Bilbao’s La Liga win over Real Betis, with post-match scans advising against his involvement.

Thomas-Asante also misses out after sustaining an injury during Coventry City’s 3-0 victory over Swansea City, where he was forced off in the 62nd minute. Further medical checks revealed the issue was more serious than initially thought.

Both players have now been withdrawn from Otto Addo’s squad for the matches against Austria and Germany.
