The football club Everton could face another deduction of points in the upcoming season, as reported by journalist David Ornstein.

The situation revolves around a dispute regarding £6.5 million related to percentages for the construction of their new stadium. However, this matter will be resolved later, potentially resulting in another points deduction next season.

Additionally, the Premier League had initially demanded a deduction of five points from Everton for a second charge (two points removed). However, the situation changed due to mitigating factors such as double jeopardy (punishment for the same offense twice), the loss of sponsorship income from USM (a company sanctioned after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as it was owned by Alisher Usmanov), and their swift admission of guilt.

Previously, the Premier League had deducted 10 points from Everton, but later softened the punishment and returned 4 points to the club. In total, this season, Sean Dyche's team has already had 8 points deducted.

In the previous round, Everton secured their first victory in 2024 by defeating Burnley 1-0 at their stadium.

On Monday, April 15, Everton will play away against Chelsea. After that, they will face matches against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Brentford, Luton, Sheffield United, and Arsenal.
