On April 6, a regular-season NHL game took place where the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning on their home ice.

Apart from the exciting hockey, an unusual incident occurred in this match. One of the referees of the game, Steve Kozari, collided head-on with the Tampa Bay Lightning player Haydn Fleury in one of the episodes. While the defenceman managed to get up, the referee had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher.

The incident happened in the middle of the third period with the score at 4-2 in favor of the hosts. After that, Tampa managed to equalize, but conceded the decisive goal just five minutes before the final buzzer. Following this match, the Lightning almost guaranteed themselves a place in the Stanley Cup playoffs, while the victory allows the Penguins to continue their fight for the eighth position. Both teams have five more games left in the regular season.
