Juventus is sending scouts to Brazil to find a replacement for injured defender Gleison Bremer.

Details: According to Tuttosport and Calciomercato.com, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has dispatched scouts to Brazil to observe and evaluate Flamengo defender Léo Ortiz, who is the top candidate to replace Bremer.

Interestingly, the 28-year-old Ortiz holds Italian citizenship, meaning if he moves to Serie A, he won’t take up a valuable non-EU player spot in the squad.

Juventus faces limited options in the January transfer window and will first need to sell some players. Flamengo, for its part, is not willing to negotiate any discounts, given that Ortiz signed a contract less than a year ago, which ties him to the club until December 2028.

Reminder: Ortiz joined Flamengo for a fee of around €7 million earlier this year. Since then, the 28-year-old has scored one goal and provided two assists in 33 official appearances.
