"In many other African countries, football is played differently than we do" - Mduduzi Shabalala shares his expectations for the new season
Amakhosi are determined and ready for action.
Details: Today, the official Kaizer Chiefs website published a new interview with attacking midfielder Mduduzi Shabalala, where he shared his expectations for the upcoming season.
Shabalala also offered his thoughts on what he believes the club needs to improve most:
"As a team, we realized that we need to manage ourselves better and focus more on finishing games. Certainly, we want to win more home matches next season, so we can compete for the top spots on the league table," Shabalala told the Amakhosi's official website.
The player also mentioned his call-up to the national team, which he says played a key role in his career:
"Being selected for the national team was a huge honor. It also boosted my confidence, and the matches taught me a lot. I have no doubt that I’ll be able to apply all these lessons at the CAF Confederation Cup, for which we, as Kaizer Chiefs, have qualified."
According to Mduduzi, Bafana Bafana's playing style is very different from other African teams, making them unique:
"In many other African countries, football is played differently than we do, and it’s a very physical game. I also learned a lot about the mental side of football during my time with Bafana. So I gained really valuable knowledge and experience that will improve my game in the future," the player admitted.
