In the north of the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, a shocking tragedy has occurred involving a footballer from the local club Barcelona.

Details: SC Barcelona officially announced on its platforms the tragic death of footballer Mario Pineida and his wife. Social media reports also state that his mother was hospitalized after sustaining injuries.

He was 33 years old.

Mario Pineida was an Ecuadorian footballer who played as a defender for Barcelona and the Ecuador national team. Pineida was called up for the 2015 Copa América, making the final 23-man squad.
