FIFA intends to modify the regulations and format of the Club World Cup. According to Sky News, the international football federation has already settled on the tournament's schedule in a new format.

The tournament is set to span 29 days, taking place from June 15th to July 13th, 2025. It's noted that one of the primary changes will concern the number of participants. For the first time, the tournament will include a whopping 32 teams, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City among the confirmed participants as the recent UEFA Champions League winners.

It's anticipated that during today's FIFA Council meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, these dates will be proposed for approval. The intention is to hold the tournament in this format every four years.

It's worth recalling that the current tournament in the old format is taking place in Jeddah. Tomorrow, in the first semi-final match, Brazilian Fluminense will face Egypt's Al-Ahly, while on Tuesday, Manchester City will play against Japan's Urawa. The match for the third-place and the final are scheduled for Friday, December 22nd.
