Mudryk could be back on the pitch as soon as next season.
Details: According to The Athletic journalist Liam Twomey, the maximum penalty that the 25-year-old Chelsea and Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk could face is a four-year ban. However, even if Mudryk is found guilty, he might be able to return to action much sooner.
The key is that Mudryk has already served 16 months of suspension, which will be taken into account when the verdict is delivered. If he is found not guilty, the Ukrainian will be able to return to football immediately.
Chelsea fully support Mudryk, but they understand that given his situation, they need to have a plan B. That plan could involve transfers for Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittins.
Mykhailo Mudryk joined Chelsea in 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk for €70 million. Before his suspension, he managed to play 73 matches for Chelsea, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists.
His contract with Chelsea runs until 2031.
