"I'm optimistic": Inter Miami's sporting director on extending Messi's contract


Lionel Messi is currently playing for Inter Miami under a contract that runs until the end of 2025. However, the club is keen to extend the agreement.
Details: In a statement to GiveMeSport, Inter Miami president Jorge Mas expressed his desire for Messi to remain with the team and to inaugurate Miami’s new stadium. He also revealed plans to discuss the extension with Messi during the offseason.
Quote: "I’m very confident that Leo Messi will open our new stadium in 2026. I will sit down with Leo at some point during the offseason. I’m optimistic that as long as Messi stays healthy, we’ll continue to see him in the pink jersey," said Jorge Mas.
Inter Miami won the regular MLS season, finishing with 74 points from 34 matches, a record in league history. However, in the playoffs, the team was eliminated in the first round, losing 1-2 to Atlanta in the series.
