‘I’ll Personally Pay the Bonuses if the Authority Fail’ – Ndidi Steps In as Bonus Row Rocks Eagles

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has pledged to personally cover players’ bonuses if football authorities fail to pay before Nigeria’s AFCON 2025 quarterfinal against Algeria. The promise follows a bonus dispute that led players to threaten skipping training and delaying their trip to Marrakech, with no session held on Wednesday.

Reports say players and coaches are owed win bonuses from victories over Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and a 4-0 round-of-16 win against Mozambique.

Ndidi said, “I've been pushing the team to train and play the game vs Algeria…” adding, “I'll personally pay the bonuses if the authority fail…”.
