The news instantly went viral in the football community, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino declared that if anyone actually buys a ticket at that price, he will personally come to the stands and serve that fan a hot dog and a Coke:
“I’ll personally bring that person a Coke and a hot dog to make their memories of the match unforgettable,” Infantino said.
Infantino has previously faced heavy criticism over the sky-high prices for 2026 World Cup tickets, which are several times higher than those for previous tournaments.
