I’ll be 80 by then! José Mourinho mocks the prolonged legal proceedings in the Manchester City case
The legendary Portuguese manager assessed the prospects of the process surrounding the English champions coming to an end anytime soon with his trademark biting irony.
Details: Former Chelsea and Manchester United head coach José Mourinho expressed skepticism about the succession of verdicts and appeals in the case involving Manchester City’s financial breaches. The Special One shared his view in an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The Portuguese coach treated the never-ending legal battles with humor, admitting that he would rather simply laugh at the situation. The 63-year-old manager stressed that he would have to be extremely lucky to live long enough to see the moment when the legal authorities deliver a final and definitive verdict.
“First there will be a ruling, then an appeal... I’ll be 80 by then!”, the coach quipped, poking fun at the endless legal disputes that have dragged on for many years and could continue for many more.
It is worth noting that in the 2017/18 season, Manchester United, led by José Mourinho, finished second in the Premier League table behind Manchester City, and the Portuguese coach has repeatedly reminded everyone of his legitimate claim to the gold medals should City be retrospectively stripped of their titles.
