Ikorodu City Return to the Top as Enyimba and Barau Shine on NPFL Matchday 15

Ikorodu City climbed back to the top of the NPFL table on Sunday after a tight 1–0 win over Abia Warriors at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Chidera Oparaocha scored in the 69th minute to lift the Lagos side to 27 points, taking advantage of Nasarawa United’s slip in Warri.

Nasarawa fell 1–0 to Warri Wolves, who struck early through Othuke Egbo in the fifth minute. In Aba, champions Enyimba ended their poor run with a gritty 2–1 victory over Rangers. Chidera Michael broke the deadlock just before halftime, and Stanley Dimgba added another late on. Rangers’ Kenechukwu Agu pulled one back in stoppage time but Enyimba held on.

One of the day’s most dramatic matches came in Barau, where the hosts edged Kwara United 3–2. Usman Maidubji and Muhammad Umar twice put Barau ahead, Kwara responded through Chibuzor Eze Ogbodo and Aule Johnmark, before Stanley Oganbor sealed a 90th-minute winner.

Kun Khalifat boosted their survival hopes with a 2–0 win over Plateau United, while Shooting Stars beat El-Kanemi 1–0 thanks to an Ismail Ayodele strike. Bayelsa United and Katsina United played out a 1–1 draw.

Ikorodu City and Nasarawa United now sit level on points, with Rivers United close behind and still holding a game in hand.
