Kelechi Iheanacho returned from a hamstring injury as Celtic claimed a 4-2 Europa League victory over Utrecht on Thursday night.
Celtic raced into a 3-0 lead within 30 minutes through goals from Benjamin Nygren, a Nick Viergever own goal, and an Arne Engels penalty. Utrecht responded with strikes from Dani de Wit and Adrian Blake to cut the deficit. Auston Trusty then sealed the win in the 66th minute.
Iheanacho featured for 22 minutes after coming off the bench, ending a 46-day absence since December. His injury had ruled him out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
The win secured Celtic a playoff phase spot.
