In an emotional evening at Nilton Santos Stadium, Igor Jesus played his final match in front of Botafogo supporters before his transfer to England's Nottingham Forest. Although the striker didn't score in the 3-2 victory over Ceará, he was celebrated by fans who displayed a large banner in his honor.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, the 24-year-old forward expressed his affection for the club and hinted at a possible return: “I really like this club. When I arrived, they welcomed me with open arms. Moving to Europe is a dream of mine, playing in a top league. When such an opportunity arises, you can't let it pass, because we don't know when it will come again”.

Despite his impending departure, Igor Jesus will still participate in the Club World Cup with Botafogo, set to take place in the United States starting June 14. The club is already seeking his replacement and has initiated talks with Luka Jović, a forward from Milan and former Real Madrid player, who could join on a free transfer as his contract concludes.

The transfer deal to Nottingham Forest was finalized at 129 million reais (approximately $25 million), with Igor Jesus signing a five-year contract with the English club. His tenure at Botafogo, though brief, left a significant impact, establishing him as a key offensive figure and earning the admiration of the fans.
