In the tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympics, the match for third place took place between Polish player Iga Świątek and Slovakian Anna Schmiedlová.
Świątek began the match strongly, and although Schmiedlová managed to close the gap several times, she was unable to challenge Świątek effectively. Iga won the first set 6-2 in 35 minutes.
The second set was even swifter. In just 26 minutes, Iga Świątek decisively defeated Anna Schmiedlová 6-1, sealing the match with a 2-0 victory. Consequently, within one hour and one minute, the Polish player triumphed over her opponent and secured the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics.
Moreover, Iga Świątek has become the first Polish tennis player to win an Olympic medal in the history of the sport.
