Iga Świątek reacts to reaching Wimbledon semifinals
Tennis sensation Iga Świątek has surged into the Wimbledon semifinals and celebrated her achievement with a post on her Instagram page.
The Polish ace shared photos from her quarterfinal match, captioning them with the phrase, “Semifinals! Let’s keep it going.” Notably, this marks Świątek’s first-ever appearance in the Wimbledon semifinals.
In the quarterfinals, Świątek faced off against Liudmila Samsonova and clinched victory in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. On July 10, she will battle Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic for a place in the final after Bencic overcame Mirra Andreeva in her own quarterfinal clash.
The other semifinal, also set for July 10, will see world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka take on Amanda Anisimova of the USA.
Iga Świątek is a five-time Grand Slam champion, having claimed four Roland Garros titles and the 2022 US Open crown. In total, she has captured 22 WTA titles and also boasts a bronze medal from the 2024 Olympic Games.
