Birthday victory. Iga Swiatek progresses to the next round of Roland Garros

Polish tennis sensation Iga Swiatek (currently ranked third in the world) faced off against Marie Bouzkova (ranked 42nd in the world) in the third round.

The match began with Bouzkova taking a promising lead in the first set. However, Swiatek gradually seized control and managed to extend her advantage in the scoreline. Ultimately, she clinched the first set with a score of 6-4. In the second set, the Polish athlete showcased exceptional tennis skills. Leading 4-0, the world's top-ranked player dominated. While Bouzkova attempted to narrow the gap, she couldn't muster enough to challenge Swiatek. The Pole claimed the second set 6-2.

World number one Iga Swiatek secures another victory at Roland Garros, advancing to the fourth round of the tournament. There, she is set to face the winner of the Potapova/Wang matchup.

It's also worth noting an interesting fact: today, on May 31st, Iga Swiatek celebrates her birthday. The world's top-ranked player turns 23.
