The Barcelona management continues to hope that the head coach of the team, Xavi, will remain with the club for the next season. However, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, in such a scenario, the club needs to be prepared for serious expenditures in the transfer market.

Xavi no longer wants the outcome of key matches to depend on very young academy players, so he will demand at least 2 top transfers from the club.

The priority for the Barcelona head coach is Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. His contract with the English champions includes a special buyout option specifically for the Catalan club, amounting to 50 million euros.

The second priority is signing a new central midfielder who could adequately replace Sergio Busquets. Here, Xavi is considering two players: Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich and Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

Recall that Xavi announced his departure from the club after a home defeat to Villarreal (3:5). However, after that, Barcelona did not lose a single match and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will face PSG.

After 30 rounds of La Liga, Barcelona is in second place, trailing Real by 8 points.
