Colo Colo is about to enter a critical two-week stretch in the Chilean league, with back-to-back clásicos against Universidad Católica and Universidad de Chile. While they gear up for that intense run, the archrival is already focused on the main event: the Superclásico.

Gabriel Castellón, goalkeeper for Universidad de Chile, made it clear that the match could be a turning point. “If we win those two games, we’ll be in a great position on the table. It’s important to win and see what we’re capable of,” he said. Although the U still has a match pending against Unión Española, all eyes are on the July 12 clash with Colo Colo.

Despite an inconsistent season so far, optimism remains strong within the squad. “We’re excited, we have a solid team and we believe we can fight for everything that’s left,” Castellón added.

Meanwhile, Colo Colo resumed training on Monday after a short break and is set to play a warm-up match against Chile’s U-20 national team. Their objective is straightforward: win both remaining matches in the first half of the season to enter the second leg with momentum.

Originally scheduled for April, the Superclásico was postponed after the tragic events during the Fortaleza match. It will finally be played on July 12 at the Estadio Nacional, a game packed with rivalry, pressure, and the chance to shift the course of the season.
