Ibrahim Diabate returns to GAIS at the end of his loan spell
After a season in La Liga
The Ivorian striker has not been retained by Deportivo Alaves.
Having arrived in Spain last winter from the Swedish club GAIS, Ibrahim Diabate has completed his loan spell in the Spanish La Liga. The 26-year-old Ivorian is therefore returning to Sweden to rejoin his original club. Deportivo Alaves confirmed Ibrahim Diabate’s departure on 19 June.
Since his arrival in February 2026, the Ivorian striker has played 10 matches and scored two goals in the 2025–2026 La Liga season. One of the highlights of his time in the Spanish league was his goal against FC Barcelona on 13 May 2026.
However, he is returning to GAIS, where he is under contract until December 2028.
