Egyptian winger Ibrahim Adel is at the center of a growing transfer tug-of-war between a French Ligue 1 side and La Liga club Getafe, according to well-informed Egyptian sources.
The 24-year-old, fresh off leading Pyramids FC to their first CAF Champions League title, has emerged as one of the most in-demand African talents on the market.
Talks to Begin After Egypt Cup Final
Pyramids have received an official approach from the unnamed French club, with negotiations expected to launch after Thursday’s Egypt Cup final against Zamalek. Adel had been close to joining Getafe before the current season, but the move collapsed late. Since then, his value has skyrocketed.
