IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko has shared his immediate plans for his boxing career. The Ukrainian fighter has stated that he does not plan to return to the ring until next year.

"[I plan to return] next year. Right now, my plan is to rest, and all this boxing business will start in the new year," Lomachenko said concisely.

Previously, Lomachenko's manager, Egis Klimas, announced that Vasyl would not be fighting until the end of the year due to a lack of motivation.

It's worth noting that in May, the Ukrainian boxer defeated George Kambosos to claim the IBF lightweight title.

Interestingly, at a boxing event in Los Angeles last night, Lomachenko got into a verbal altercation with WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. During the confrontation, Lomachenko challenged Stevenson to step into the ring immediately to determine who is stronger.

The American agreed, but security personnel had to intervene and separate them.
