Benfica's title hopes have been completely dashed.

Details: The 63-year-old head coach of Lisbon's Benfica, José Mourinho, delivered a scathing critique of his players following the draw in the 28th round of the Portuguese Championship against Casa Pia.

Mourinho believes there are players in the squad whose level does not match the club's ambitions, but he cannot simply offload them:

"We no longer have a chance to win the championship.

There are certain players I don't want to see on the pitch anymore. I don't want them playing, but they are club assets and have market value." - Mourinho stated.

At the moment, Benfica sits third in the league standings with 66 points after 28 rounds.

José Mourinho took charge of Benfica in September last year and has since managed 38 matches, recording 23 wins, 7 draws, and 8 defeats.
