Troy Deeney, the legendary former Watford striker, has shared his thoughts on Mohamed Salah, stating that the Egyptian forward is not a world-class player. Salah, a key figure for Liverpool, recently became the all-time top scorer among African players in the UEFA Champions League. However, Deeney believes that Salah lacks certain qualities that define the very top level of talent.
Quote: "My argument has always been that I just don't think he's a world-class player. What I consider world-class is this question: Would I want my kids to play the way this player does? That, for me, is world class."
“If I were asking my kids, who want to be forwards, I’d advise them to look at what Vinícius Júnior does, not Mohamed Salah," Deeney stated.
Despite Deeney’s criticism, Mohamed Salah continues to enjoy a remarkable season. In the current campaign, the Egyptian forward has scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in 17 matches.
