The Argentine star hasn't forgotten the club of his life, even after all these years.

Details: In an interview with AS, Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted he has no regrets or sadness about Lionel Messi's departure from the team.

According to Laporta, there is no conflict between him and Leo, but Messi's return to Barcelona is impossible as long as he is president. Laporta also shared his thoughts on Messi's recent visit to Camp Nou:

"I know what happened. It was a spontaneous act of pride for Barcelona. I didn't know about it. This is his home. When I was told what happened, I found it truly charming—a spontaneous gesture, a genuine act of pride for Barcelona," Laporta said. "We have a good relationship; I haven't sent him any messages. We love him here, this is his home, and he knows it. We've always said: it would only be right for him to receive the most beautiful tribute in the world. I think it will be wonderful.

As for Messi's departure, considering how everything unfolded, I have no regrets: Barça is above everything. Things didn't go as we all would have liked, but at that moment, it was impossible. If we can revive the tribute, we will be happy to do so."

In any case, to dispel any possible doubts, he made it clear:

"Talking about Leo Messi's return as a player is unrealistic."

Messi left Barcelona in 2021, transferring to PSG for €80 million. Leo played for Barcelona's first team since 2005, having previously come through all the club’s youth ranks and academies. It was in Barcelona that Leo Messi became the legend he is today.

Reminder: Messi personally asked to visit Camp Nou — and Barça immediately agreed
