Yesterday, the groups for the 2026 World Cup were revealed—a tournament that, for the first time in history, will feature 48 teams. The teams have been divided into 12 quartets. Yet, many are talking more about the format of the event itself than the football on display.

Details: It took an hour and a half from the start of the event to the actual draw. Among other moments, Gianni Infantino presented the FIFA Peace Prize to the President of the United States for "exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace" and for having "united people across the world." Trump was given a large gold trophy, a medal, and a certificate.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel, who attended the draw, was not impressed by the show and the ceremony process. Speaking to BBC Sport, the German specialist said:

I do not, not like it but we could have done it like, without all of this. I don't need it. But of course, it's a huge stage and it's big entertainment. I was very well aware that it's not about the deep insight of football today.

Reminder: England landed in Group L, where they will face Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. The Three Lions kick off their campaign on June 17 against Croatia.
