"I didn't want to make him angry" - Casemiro recalls El Clásico and facing Lionel Messi
In the past, Messi would deliver victories for Barcelona even when the entire team was having an off day.
Details: In a recent interview, 34-year-old Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro looked back on his days playing for Real Madrid, when he faced off against Lionel Messi in El Clásico.
According to Casemiro, he was always very careful playing against Leo, fearing he might provoke him:
"Every time we played, I didn’t say too much, didn’t put too much pressure on him, because I didn’t want to make him angry.
I’d make a tackle, then say, 'Sorry' (laughs). You just can’t stop him, it’s impossible. Barcelona might be playing poorly, but then Messi scores, and that’s three points." Casemiro admitted.
Casemiro played for Real Madrid from 2015 to 2022, making 336 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 31 goals and providing 29 assists.
