"I didn't leave because of family," says Jose Riveiro as he comments on his departure from Orlando Pirates

The Spaniard provided a statement to the media, explaining why he decided to leave Orlando Pirates.
Details: According to the former Orlando Pirates coach, who clinched five trophies with the team, it was time for new challenges.
Speaking on Metro FM, the Spaniard said:
There were stories about my decision to leave Pirates. I never said I was leaving because of distance. I didn’t leave to be closer to my family.
The decision was based on my own feelings that my time at Orlando Pirates had come to an end. I needed to continue my journey and push myself in a new environment.
I think it will also be positive for the Pirates to move forward in a different way, to look for a new challenge, and for the club to find someone who can take the team to the next level.
Al-Ahli is a club that gives you a great platform to grow further and to compete for trophies. I think it’s a good opportunity for my development. I needed to make a decision.
