"I could have joined Juventus, but..." - Victor Osimhen reveals why his move to the Bianconeri fell through
Things could have turned out very differently for Osimhen.
Details: In a recent interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport, 27-year-old Galatasaray and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen admitted he was close to signing for Juventus this past summer. However, the deal was blocked by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who flatly refused to let Osimhen join a direct rival.
Osimhen himself confessed that he wanted to move to Juventus:
Yes, I could have joined Juventus. Juve wanted to sign me... but Napoli president De Laurentiis didn’t want to sell me to Juventus.
Of course, Juventus is a top club. When Juventus calls, you listen," he said.
Victor Osimhen officially became a Galatasaray player in the summer of 2025, after spending a season on loan with the Turkish giants. Napoli received €75 million for the Nigerian striker, who signed a contract with Galatasaray until 2029.
This season, Osimhen has made 22 appearances for Galatasaray, scoring 15 goals and providing 3 assists.
