Kyle Walker, who recently moved from Manchester City to AC Milan, chose to wear the No. 32 shirt—coincidentally the same number that David Beckham once wore at the club. In an interview with GQ, Walker revealed that he even asked Beckham for his blessing before taking the number.

Walker admitted that he spoke with Beckham before joining Milan and wanted to hear his thoughts on the choice.

"He messaged me, and I said, ‘I hope you don't mind me taking your number’ He says, ‘No, it's an honour; do it proud’," Walker shared.

Beckham played for Milan on loan twice, in 2009 and 2010. He opted for the No. 32 shirt because his usual numbers—7 and 23—were already taken.

Interestingly, both the 23 and 32 numbers have basketball significance. Beckham chose No. 23 in honor of NBA legend Michael Jordan, while No. 32 was a nod to Magic Johnson.

Since joining Milan in January, Walker has already made five appearances for the Italian club across all competitions.
