Hungary became the tenth participant of Euro 2024

The Hungarian national team has qualified for the final stage of UEFA Euro 2024.

The team secured a place in the tournament in the ninth round of qualifying against Bulgaria: the match ended in a 2-2 draw, but the result was enough for Hungary to secure one of the top two places in the qualification group.

The Hungarian national team is making its third consecutive appearance at the Euros, for the first time in history. On all three occasions, it came after the tournament's final stage was expanded to 24 teams.

At Euro 2016, Hungary crashed out in the Round of 16. At Euro 2020, the team did not make it out of the group. The best achievement in the history of Hungarian football at the European Championship was third place in 1964.

Note that Hungary became the tenth participant of Euro 2024. The final part of the tournament will take place from 14 June to 14 July in Germany. A total of 24 national teams will qualify for the Euros.
