Hull City have doubled their advantage against Manchester United, with Senegal international Nobel Mendy making it 2-0 in their Premier League opener.

The newly promoted side had earlier taken the lead in the 17th minute through Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi, who reacted quickest to the rebound and fired home to put Hull 1-0 ahead.

Hull then extended their advantage when Slater delivered a superb free-kick into the box, with Mendy rising highest to thump his effort past Lammens.
