After Bafana Bafana's last two friendlies, Hugo Broos came out to publicly support the Orlando Pirates star after the player's outstanding performance to support the team and achieve good results as well.

Last Friday, Bafana Bafana played their friendly against Tanzania which ended in a goalless 0-0 draw at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The team then played a 2-0 win against Mozambique at the same stadium.

After deciding not to call up the stars of Mamelodi Sundowns because they will be competing in the FIFA World Cup, the Belgian coach used new names in the national team and after the two matches, he revealed that he was completely satisfied with their performances.

After the recent 2-0 win, the Belgian coach praised Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Sibisi for his leadership in the game.

Hugo says it was the right time to make the player captain

"True leadership isn't about constant talking," Broos responded regarding team captaincy.

"Some captains speak excessively, but Ronwen [Williams] and Sibisi lead differently. Their quiet presence commands universal respect.

"Ronwen's qualities are obvious, but Sibisi's leadership potential went unnoticed initially. He's been with us since my arrival - the ultimate professional.

"His conduct and attitude earn teammates' respect. Observe him - during these ten days with us, you'll notice his silent leadership.

"Today's decision to make him captain was correct. With him not playing Friday, we needed balanced leadership across both squads."
