PGMOL chief Howard Webb will soon appear in court following accusations brought by a former Women’s Super League referee.

Details: According to The Telegraph, referee Lisa Benn has filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful dismissal. The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday, 17 November.

Earlier, Benn claimed that PGMOL — then led by Webb and his wife, Bibiana Steinhaus-Webb — suspended her from officiating after she filed a complaint against a coach of a men’s team.

She alleged that former Premier League assistant referee and PGMOL coach Steve Child “treated her harshly” and “threatened” her during a tournament held in 2023.

Following the incident, she lost her place on the FIFA referees list and was unable to receive an annual salary of £20,000. That is why Lisa Benn has now decided to take the matter to court.

Reminder: Manchester United are trying to pull themselves out of their current-season slump, but the club may soon face a very unpleasant situation in court.
