How Will Colombia and Brazil Line Up? Doubts and Surprises for the Big Clash in Brasília
The Colombian national team will face Brazil this Thursday in a crucial clash for the 2026 World Cup qualification. Both teams arrive with the need to earn points, and their coaches are already shaping their line-ups. While there are few doubts, there are indeed significant absences and some surprises in the formation of the respective starting teams.
According to FutbolRed, the coach of the Colombian team, Argentine Néstor Lorenzo, is maintaining the core of his usual eleven, though with a couple of changes in defense and attack. The main novelty would be the inclusion of Cristian Borja as left-back instead of Johan Mojica. Additionally, with Jhon Jader Durán suspended, the Argentine coach is debating between Jhon Córdoba and Rafael Santos Borré for the center forward position, with the Krasnodar player having the edge.
Brazil, on the other hand, is also making adjustments to its formation. As reported by Diario AS, coach Dorival Júnior would opt for a 4-3-3 with an offensive trio consisting of Savinho, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo. In midfield, Bruno Guimarães will be responsible for dictating the tempo, accompanied by Gerson and Raphinha. In defense, Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães will pair up as central defenders, while Vanderson and Guilherme Arana will take the full-back positions.
Possible line-ups
- Colombia: Camilo Vargas; Daniel Muñoz, Davinson Sánchez, Jhon Lucumí, Cristian Borja; Richard Ríos, Jefferson Lerma; Jhon Arias, James Rodríguez, Luis Díaz; Jhon Córdoba.
- Brazil: Alisson; Vanderson, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, Guilherme Arana; Bruno Guimarães, Gerson, Raphinha; Savinho, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo.
