The dismissal of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in October seemed somewhat illogical to many, especially after the club had extended his contract just a few months earlier. The mistake and the subsequent corrections have turned out to be costly for the club's bosses.
Details: According to a review of Manchester United's latest financial report by Manchester Evening News, the compensation paid to Ten Hag and his staff totaled £10.4 million. Appointing his successor, Ruben Amorim, along with his assistants, cost the club an additional £11 million.
In total, this amounts to nearly £22 million, which, by the way, is deducted from the club’s transfer budget, thus limiting Amorim's spending power in the transfer market.
Reminder: The Portuguese manager has already taken charge of his first match for Manchester United, drawing 1-1 with Ipswich.
