In the past six months, Atalanta has lost only three times, all occurring early in the season. Since then, the black and blue team has defeated Milan, Roma, Napoli, and Fiorentina, while managing a single draw against Bologna, also at the start of the campaign. Today, Atalanta earned another draw, this time against Lazio, finishing 1–1.

Despite Atalanta’s exciting brand of football, Lazio seemed closer to claiming victory in this matchup. In the first half, the Bergamo side was completely subdued, showing little cohesion or attacking threat. Fortunately, Atalanta regained some momentum in the second half, creating occasional scoring chances, though Lazio maintained their competitive edge.

It’s tough to identify true standout performances in this match, but a few players came close to earning that distinction.

Mario Pašalić

Substituted in the 56th minute, Mario still managed to rank among Atalanta’s best performers. Remarkably, the attacking midfielder excelled defensively, registering four defensive actions (only two teammates had more) and winning five duels (second only to Ederson and Rovella, each with six).

Marten de Roon

Marten was Atalanta’s most involved player on the pitch. He led the team in touches (83, tied with Bellanova), passes (71), and defensive actions (9). Without his contribution, Atalanta might have conceded more goals. Notably, he also made seven progressive passes into the attacking third (second only to Ederson’s 10), proving effective both defensively and in advancing the ball upfield.

Raoul Bellanova

Raoul stood out primarily for his attacking contributions, delivering 10 crosses into Lazio’s penalty area—nearly matching Lazio’s total of 12 for the entire match. Alongside de Roon, Bellanova played a key role in both constructing attacks and reinforcing the defense.

Worth mentioning

Ademola Lookman stood out as perhaps the only Atalanta attacker who genuinely tried to spark creativity throughout the match. Unfortunately, in the first half, he rarely saw the ball as Lazio effectively stifled Atalanta’s offensive efforts. However, in the second half, Lookman managed to take five shots on goal and even provided an assist—albeit facilitated by a defensive error from Lazio, whose backline failed to execute an offside trap effectively.

Odilon Kossounou also deserves recognition. While his performance didn’t include any standout or flashy moments, he was one of Atalanta’s most noticeable players in the second half. After a challenging first half, Kossounou took on the crucial role of staying back to support his teammates defensively. Interestingly, he interpreted this task with a proactive twist—consistently pushing the ball forward, drawing Lazio players toward him, and deliberately distributing passes only into the opposition's half.
