Houston Dynamo and USMNT midfielder Jack McGlynn have agreed in principle to a new contract, sources tell GIVEMESPORT. While the deal has not yet been signed or officially submitted, both parties have settled key terms as they finalize remaining details. McGlynn is currently with the U.S. squad ahead of Sunday’s Gold Cup final against Mexico.
The new deal provides McGlynn with a well-earned pay raise and retains him under the U-22 initiative slot. It also improves the club’s leverage for a future transfer to Europe, which both Houston and McGlynn’s camp still view as the next step—though now likely after the 2026 World Cup.
Since joining from Philadelphia this past winter, McGlynn has thrived in a more advanced role, playing as a wide attacking midfielder. He’s continued to impress in that position with the USMNT this summer, further solidifying his growing profile ahead of an anticipated move abroad.
