Houston Dynamo continues to bolster their squad with significant international signings, confirming on Friday the acquisition of Czech midfielder Ondřej Lingr from Slavia Prague. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a Designated Player contract until June 2028, with an option to extend for an additional year. According to MLSSoccer, the deal was finalized for a sum close to $2.6 million.

The news was announced by the Texas club through a statement, in which their sporting president, Pat Onstad, highlighted the player's attacking profile: “Ondřej is a goal-scoring midfielder with experience at the highest level of European and international football. He will bring verticality, presence in the area, and defensive intensity that aligns with what we seek in Houston.”

Lingr arrives in MLS with a record of 57 goals and 16 assists in 270 professional matches, having played for Slavia Prague and Feyenoord, and boasting experience in competitions like the Champions League and Europa League. On the national level, he has 24 caps for the Czech Republic and played all group stage matches in Euro 2024.

With his addition, he joins a revamped midfield that already includes Jack McGlynn, Nicolás Lodeiro, Júnior Urso, and Duane Holmes. Houston is looking to rebuild after the departures of Héctor Herrera and Adalberto Carrasquilla.
